Towards sustainable pharmaceuticals in a healthy society
The annual report from MistraPharma
The MistraPharma research programme aims at identifying human pharmaceuticals that may pose a signifi ant risk to organisms in the aquatic environment, recommend additional waste water treatment technologies and provide knowledge that could contribute to an improved European legislation in this fi eld. The programme is financed by the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research (Mistra).Last year MistraPharma published a book entitled "A Healthy Future — Pharmaceuticals in a Sustainable Society". That volume summarized the current knowledge of the problems that surround pharamaceuticals and sustainable development.
The book this year gives an overview of the achievements obtained during the first two years of research within MistraPharma. It also contains a global outlook and visions for the future. We hope that you will find it interesting.
