Stockholm County Council organised on October 8, 2008 a successful seminar on the theme: Pharmaceuticals and the environment - who´s head ache? It attracted over 400 participants.
MistraPharma were represented by Joakim Larsson who, among other things, discussed a recently new discovered important source for discharge of drugs into the environment, namely production facilities. J. Larsson and his colleagues has found that a treatment plant in India that processes wastewater from pharmaceutical manufacturers discharges highly drug-contaminated water into a stream that feeds a major river.Read more about this study here. |
